The Armenian U21 has recorded a resounding victory over the U21 team of Turkey in spectacular fashion coming from a goal behind in the waning seconds of the match to earn the victory.

The Armenians dominated the first half with numerous opportunities to take the lead, but were turned away. Attack after attack they kept football fans on the edge of their seats waiting to celebrate. The second half would start fairly slowly for the Armenian team, as the Turkish team was more active. It would cost the Armenians a goal on the 66th minute, when the Armenian defender would make a crucial mistake and turn the ball over leading to a 3 on 1 attack by the Turkish forwards. The shot would be block by the Armenian goalkeeper Grigor Meliksetian into the path of the Turkish forward who would push the ball into the net for a commanding 1-0 lead.

The Armenian team would not lose hope, and would push forward with the whole team trying for an equalizer. In the 89th minute, the Armenian team would break through on an attack down the right side of the field, and the Turkish defender would commit a costly foul to give the Armenian team a chance to convert from a set play. Sure enough, the cross would find Karlen Mkrtchyan in the box as he would direct the ball home from the cross to give Armenia the equalizer at 1-1.

The Turkish team would re-start the match with fervor as they would push to get a goal for the victory, and had a couple of dangerous opportunities to convert but were turned away. On the 93rd minute, the Armenian midfielder Henrik Mkhitarian would take the ball through three Turkish midfielder, give a pass off to the forward and receive the ball back in a break through position, and with cool demeanor punch the ball past the Turkish goaltender for a shocking victory sending Hrazdan stadium into frenzy.

The victory gives Armenia ten points, with one last game left against Turkey in Istanbul next month. If all of the other matches end favorably, Armenia will still have a shot at slipping into a play-off spot to proceed to the European Championships next year.
